How to change the color of an object in Photoshop

Step 1: Selecting the parts you want to change color

In this tutorial you will learn how to easily change the color of an object to the color you want. This isn't the only method of changing the color of objects but it is one of the fastest and easiest

In the example i want to change the color of the Lamborghini from blue to green. Firstly you will need to select the parts of your image you want to change. To do this go to the top navigation bar in Photoshop and click the "Select" button. A drop down menu should appear. Select "Color Range"

Quick Tip

The "Color Range" window allows you to pick a certain color from your image and make it into a selection or multiple selections

Step 2: Making a selection

A "Color Range" menu will pop up. Make sure you have the eye dropper tool from the "Color Range" window selected. The normal eye dropper tool allows you to click once on the image. The eye dropper with the + sign next to it means it allows you to click the image multiple times. The eye dropper tool with the - next to it means you will subtract the color you click. The selection will appear in white in the little window in the "Color Range" window

Step 3: Changing the color

Once you are happy with your selection click "OK". The window should disappear and a line should appear indicating your selection. Down at the layers window click the icon        . A drop down menu should appear. Select "Hue and Saturation". A new layer should have been created showing a mask and the "Hue and Saturation filter". Now by messing around with the "Hue" slider your object should change color
